Summer Fitness and Quick Snacks

“We provide a modern day approach to fitness – bridging gaps and supporting individuals through their fitness evolution.”

Q: What is something that has surprised you about the work you do?

A: Fitness is influenced by so many things including our exercise routine, injury prevention, nutrition, mobility, balance, and so much more. We recently shared how less than 15 minutes of certain movement techniques and body work can improve not only shoulder and hip range and pain resolution, but also improve breathing!

Q: What are some common fitness myths?

A: Nothing makes us happier than when people add strength training into their workout regimen. We believe in a methodical pairing of rehab work and strength training because both are important. It is a myth that using weights in workouts adds bulk. In fact, adding strength training into your program will change the way you look and feel in really positive ways.

Q: What is one thing you think people need to know that they might be missing in their understanding about fitness?

A: Proper movement is essential, and often the most critical body parts are overlooked. For example, the ankle is one of most important joints to keep moving properly and no one thinks, “I want to be fit,” and then works out their ankles. But, they really should. Everything starts at the foot and ankle and improper movement can affect your entire lower extremity chain and beyond.

Protein Enhanced “Guacamole”: 1-2-3 recipe and no chopping required!

A life hack you won’t want to miss. Check out this easy recipe for summer using Pro-Chi as a shortcut to healthier snacking.

Ingredients:

2-3 Avocados, halved and pitted

Juice of half a lemon

1/4 C. plus 1 T. Harissa Lime Pro-Chi Lentil Crunch

Pinch of sea salt

To Prepare the “Guacamole”:

In a small bowl, scoop avocado from skin and mash gently with a fork. Sprinkle with lemon juice and add in 1/4 C. Pro-Chi and sea salt. Stir to combine. Taste and adjust salt if necessary. Sprinkle with remaining 1 T. Pro-Chi over top.

You can serve this with chips, however, the crunch of Pro-Chi is a great substitute for chips so this guacamole pairs equally great with healthy veggies like cucumber slices and carrots for optimal healthy snacking.
