This salmon recipe is easy and super tasty. And with no added sugar, the pan sauce is healthier than anything you’ll find pre-made on the shelf.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Heat about 1 T. oil on the stovetop in an ovenproof skillet over medium heat.  Pat salmon dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.  Place in hot pan and sear until golden.  Flip and sear the other side.  Flip again and place in oven until cooked through to desired doneness, turning once if necessary for even cooking.  Remove from oven and let salmon rest.  Meanwhile place pan back on the stove and add about 1 t. chopped shallots.  Let sauté about 30 seconds. Add about 1 t. tomato paste and let cook another 30 seconds.  Add about 1 T. soy sauce and about 2 T. water and stir to combine.  Cook until reduced and add a pinch of lime juice.  Add a generous dose of chopped cilantro to pan and add salmon back into pan to combine flavors. Remove from heat and serve. Enjoy this healthy recipe with salmon!
